I am not sure how the whole Trent thing got brought into this, but this was discussed with all the teams before this move was even made. I think we are getting alittle off topic here now. The point is, we need an executive to make these decisions, not make them up as we go. Its not the point of who is 1st, 2nd of 3rd, its the point of consistancy throughout the league that I am referring too. People take things way out of context and start open arguements on the board. This board was created for communication within the league, lets make it constructive and not turn it into a pissing match. No one is arguing with the playoffs game between SD and OS, just asked why it wasn't done for all. The same question I asked on the default issue, I guess it was a touchy subject ot some people. LOL

Keith, I'm not sure how the Hitmen came into this discussion either but while you didn't bring the name directly in you certianly employed it. With regards to the ranking system for the playoffs an email did go out to team reps and I'm assuming everyone or majority agreed with that way forward as that is what was done. If your not brief by your team rep on what is going on that's another issue, don't come on here making aquistions about other teams.

Guys, regarding the playoff format, we've allways used tie-breaking games when it involved a team being eliminated or moved to another division (The Redwood/Compusult issue earlier). We have never used plus/minus in this situation but we will use plus/minus when it comes to ranking. For tournaments, where time is a factor, it's a different situation.
And regarding the executive, I sent an email before the season started on this and received virtually no response. Having said this, when a difficult decision had to be made, I made a point of contacting the team reps for their thoughts beforehand. I didn't do this in the past but it helped tremendously this year. The reps did act as an executive when the need presented itself.

The reps as a executive works fine, there was no issue with the decision. AS for accusations, none were made I asked a question. Which I believe is what this board is for. People have got to stop taking things out of context and making issues bigger than what they are. Like I said before, I guess the default think was a touchy subject. As for an executive for next year, we should set up a meeting for the reps to talk about these types of scenarios, not have disputes over the message board. Even if it is just the team reps that is called the executive. As for volunteers for it, I apologize but I didn't see any e-mail for it. I would certainly have through my name in there to get one started.

No need to back peddle Keith, you certianly did a little more then asked a question a few comments back. I was born at night but it wasn't last night, it don't take a genius to know who you were talking about. You weren't on here saying much about consistency with league decisions at the end of the round robin when teams were picking up players from other divisions or players changing teams. Don Cherry's lost a game by protest earlier in the year because they picked someone up from a lower division. Should they get that win back now since the rules have changed? I see one night Redwood had someone from Molson's playing with them, same division, did anyone say anything about that? I didn't see an e-mail asking if that was o.k nor did I see you come on this message boardroom ask if there was an executive to make a decision on it. Hopefully you can get this executive of the ground next year, spend every night at the ball field to ensure all the rules are properly enforced. I'd say the league will be 100% better next year, looking forward to it.

I don't even know what the problem is??? Obviously the best team in the league finished first, isn't that the way it is supposed to be??? I'm a "C" player but it seems that every game I watch in "A" the Hitmen are just beating up on everyone else. I think regardless of where people are in the standings the Hitmen will win the league anyway.

LOL!!!!!! Take for you will, you going to anyway Perry. If you can't get on here and talk sensibly, don't bother. All players needed to be picked up were checked first. There was also a thread on this board earlier this year that stated you could call a player up if needed from another division, Molson's, if I am not mistaken, are in "B". Your making a mountain out of a mole hill now Perry. No one is trashing anyone or any team, at least I am not anyway. You started that when you brought the whole Trent thing into it, which I believe you agreed too, correct me if I'm wrong. Your taking this whole conversation way off line, LOL.

I must have missed that Thread and e-mail about picking up players earlier in the season. I wouldn't say I agreed to it, but the majority did so I'm fine with that.

I'd like to see this thread where it stated any team can pick up a player from a lower division...lol I play in the "C" division and went up for a game in the "A" with Don Cherry's only to have them get a default loss out of it, and an email stating I would be tossed from the league if I did it again or complained about the decision on the message board. I really don't have a clue about whats going on with the "A" league right now, but I would have to say that the rules should be put into place as of the first week and posted on the front page of this site. Don't forward emails to team reps or say "we may do this or that", Just make a set of rules and hopefully things will go half smooth. Regardless, people will complain about the way things are operated down there, but if you have something set in stone then it will create some sort of consistency.

Have a look Perry, the thread is there that Craig sent the beginning of the season. Seems like other people feel the same way I do about the whole situation, you and Jody are the only ones making a big deal about it.

Keith I'm not really disagreeing with anything I just don't like how you singled the Hitmen out in one of your post regarding defaults when you didn't know the situation. You were pretty quick to bring that up in your post but like I said I didn't see you on here talking about players switching teams or being able to pick up players from other leagues when there was set rules against it all year.

No one singled you out, my understanding was that there was a double default. You brought yourself into it when you and Jody jumped at me. LOL There was more than one team that I heard involved in the whole default thing, but you are right. I was going on what I heard.
